For some people, it can become a habit to pick up their phone while driving. This is extremely hazardous and it is becoming more common as new drivers hit the streets. Sadly, according to the article “U Drive. U Text. U Pay.” from the NHTSA, texting while driving seems to cause the most accidents within the general public today. Due to mass casualties on the streets, our state of Florida has discerned the issue of distracted driving so, a law was passed. This law asserts that you are required to make two offenses in order to receive any repercussions. The state should change distracted driving from a secondary offense, and make it a primary offense, so more drivers will listen to the law. Caution should be used by all drivers, so we can drive on safer roads, where no one is in harm’s way. …show more content…
