While the idea of creating an artificial child may seem immoral, there are more advantages to designer babies than just eliminating disabilities. In addition to creating a fairer environment for all children, this procedure could also make them live longer with the discarding of disease causing genes. To begin with, the technology used is not one hundred percent safe, and the embryo could accidentally be destroyed during the procedure. Along with the dangers of the death of the embryo, designer babies could gain an unfair advantage in the society with the modification of genes to be more advantageous mentally and externally. This could also create societies between designer and non-designer babies. In reality, these groups are already shown between the rich and the poor; the procedure would not be cheap as well, which could also create problems.
