The first concussion had done lasting damage to his brain but since he was not given the right treatment he was back to going full speed at training within a week. This is how Eskandarian describes his last and worst concussion, “I couldn’t breathe. It felt like I was swallowing my tongue. I had broken my nose and started spitting out blood. It felt as if I had been hit in the face with a baseball bat. My old symptoms had returned. This time, worse than before.” This last one ended his career, he was told by his neurologist, “If you play soccer and you get hit in the head again, you might die,”. So, he went back to school because his career was over but his symptoms followed him there Eskandarian stated “At school, new challenges awaited. The damage to my brain was worse than before.
