The Second Amendment to the US Constitution states that “a well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed”. The Second Amendment was passed by Congress and ratified by the States on December 15, 1791. Folks have argued the right to bear arms as well as gun control before the Constitution was written and have continued to this day. The right to carry a concealed handgun is arguably protected by the Second Amendment of the Constitution’s Bill of Rights. Adults should have the right to carry a concealed handgun if they so desire.
