If you don't know how researchers clone pets here is how they do it. According to Scholastic's Scope, ¨First, they would use the pet´s genetic material to make a cluster of cells called an embryo. That embryo would be implanted in the womb of a female dog, where it would hopefully grow just as it would in a normal pregnancy. The dog would later on give birth to the clone.

Yes, I have told you about how cloning pets have some cons but, cloning pets have some cool features to it too. Researchers use clones of many animals to study human diseases and search for a cure. Cloning is a cell, cell product, or organism that is genetically identical to the unit or individual it is derived from. During the process of cloning, a piece of DNA is cut from its source with a restriction enzyme. Then, the DNA is put into a vector ( a DNA molecule used to transport genetic material into another cell). The vector is introduced to a host cell by the process called transformation, then the host cell copies the vector DNA with the original DNA; creating copies of the inserted DNA. After the DNA is done copying, it is then removed from the host cell and purified cell.…

There is another way in which this case was seen as beneficial, however it is perceived as slightly minor in regards to the other benefits. This application of cloning does not relate to dogs only, but to all animals which can be considered to be pets. Many who have mourned the loss of a pet have ‘brought it back to life’ through reproductive cloning. While this may seem a little extreme, this scientific breakthrough has made it possible for these pet owners to feel connected to their deceased pets once again. Cloning therefore has many merits and can prove to be utilitarian…

They believe that cloning would separate the clone from everyone else making them feel unworthy or left out. For others such as, Karen Weintraub a scientific journalist, she believes that is “--silly and sad for people to spend thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars thinking they will get back a beloved pet through cloning.” Weintraub believes that death is a part of life and scientists should not try and avoid it. “Death is a terrible part of life, but cloning won’t allow us to avoid it.…

Cloning an idea not so long ago seemed like it was purely science fiction, but now that it’s looking more and more like an actuality, we ask ourselves should we keep it that way. Cloning animals is not only unnatural but has uncertain outcomes with a high failure rate and a high probability of diseased clones to continue the practice. Animal cloning has a significant percent of uncertainty that goes along with the process. Despite several hundred attempts and years of relentless research, more than ninety-five percent of cloning attempts results in failure (American Anti-Vivisection Society).…

However, the problem with this is that the meat could not be safe for people to consume and if people are cloned they could lose more than just the cycle of life. Humans are another species that scientists want to add to the list of living species that have been cloned.…
