When we think of de-extinction or resurrection, we think that scientists are actually going to bring back an extinct animal not cloning it. The bucardo was a goat like animal that became extinct for a while but scientists were able to get another species of goat pregnant with the eggs from the bucardo, it was successful but only for a few minutes. According to the Long Now Foundation, the scientists used the same methods as they would cloning an animal. The cloning methods and de-extinction research has made the scientists come to realize that to resurrect an extinct animal, they could use a similar process then which they used cloning an animal. As stated by LiveScience, when the extinct bucardo was born it was a clone from a dead animal not an actual bucardo brought back to life. The Jurassic park …show more content…
While they have been successful at making another Bucardo, it died in its first few minutes. Plus it’s even harder to do these experiments on animals that have been extinct longer like the wooly mammoth. The DNA of these creatures have been preserved in the ice age but have still been damaged. When scientists performed this experiment on the bucardo it was much easier because they had a freshly preserved batch of the stuff they needed. When they have all the stuff they need it will be easier for them to do work in the future. Technology is up to date now scientists just wait for another species to go extinct and try
