Should animal cloning be allowed or not? This topic has many people’s minds wraps around for a long time. As the world travel into a new millennium, technology advances and with that, almost anything are possible to do including cloning animals. Different people have different point of views on pet cloning. One point of view is that cloning animal is deleterious because it’s unethical. Cloning animals come with a huge risk and responsibility. Another point of view is that cloning animal is ethical because it’s a way to keep pets around. Those who are on the side of cloning animals believe that it’s a good way to keep pet around. In the article, it mentioned, “Companies that offer pet-cloning services say cloning is a way to honor a beloved animal and to ease the grief of losing a pet.” Although that is true for some people, the following statement stated, “But cloning has a dark side.” The dark side of cloning means that for every successful clone there are dozens of failures. Beside that there are many other obstacles that come with it. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, clone pets usually have health problems, birth defect, and etc. Because of this animal cloning should not be an acceptable practice and should be discontinued. In conclusion, animal cloning should not be allowed. There are tons of pets out there in the animal shelters that need a home. People can adapt one that look similar to their old ones instead of spending thousands of dollars trying to clone their pet. There are many reasons why cloning should not be allowed and is bad because of the uncertainty of science and technology, no guarantee of an exact copy of the pet, and the risk/responsibility that comes with it.
