Softball is a sport that many people around the United States enjoy. Hitting the ball and the bat you use is a big part of this sport. To be able to hit well, you need a bat that will allow you to do so. The question that many people ask is what is the best bat to use for high school fastpitch softball? Of course there is not one bat that is better than all the rest, but when looking for the bat that is perfect for you, you have to consider many things. These pitchers throw harder, and defense is more advanced in this age group. Using a composite bat gives hitters an advantage to be more successful. Composite bats also help out power hitters a lot, allowing the ball to jump off of the bat faster and travel farther. For the high school level using a composite bat is by far the right decision. …show more content…
According to softballbatsunliminted.com most people prefer bats out of the “Big 3” which are DeMarini, Louisville Slugger, and Easton. The Louisville are able to hit low compression balls better with a better pop and greater distance, but other than that most of them perform fairly equally. A ball “pops” off a DeMarini bat very nicely, but it stuns your hands when you use it on a cold day if not hit in the right spot, as do the Eastons. The Louisville Xeno is probably the brand and model that most people prefer. The DeMarini CF8 and Easton Mako Torq are also very good

This will reduce the number of injuries caused by dwindling reaction times. The decreased reaction time can be especially dangerous for pitchers who are the closest to the batter. On the other hand, it could also be argued that the performance increase can’t be too drastic since we have continued to use these bats for 12 years without noticing this defect. But I believe the performance increase may not have been as drastic before people noticed its presence and began to exploit…

“Although many people assume that softball was derived from baseball, the sport’s first game actually came about because of a football game” (History 1). Softball was invented on Thanksgiving day in 1887 in Chicago, Illinois by a group of Yale and Harvard alumni. The supporter swung at the glove and everyone was interested by the act of the stick hitting the glove. George Hancock, a reporter for the Chicago Board of Trade, yelled out, “Play Ball”, and the first softball game began.…

Although when it comes to stealing bases in baseball the runner is allowed to steal whenever the ball is live (which is most of the time). In softball you are only allowed to steal once the pitcher releases the ball out of their hand, but the runner is not allowed to leave the base if the pitcher has the ball in the pitching circle. Another major difference between baseball and softball is the how the ball is thrown to the batter. In softball the ball is pitched underhanded and can be fast as it is in fast-pitch softball or slow like in slow-pitch softball. In baseball the ball is usually pitched overhanded in really fast…
