Although over the past decades technology has evanced and has replaced some of these research animals, the Institue of Medicine have recently concluded that “most current use of chimpanzees for biomedical research is unnecessary” (Institute of Medicine.) There are many chimpanzees being housed in research facilites that never get to the research process instead they are caged their whole life costing the united states on average $325 million of federally funded money. So why are these animals being used in experimentation when we have computers that could take their place costing the U.S less money and do the job almost the same as if we would experiment on these
