When people hear the words “child abuse”, they automatically think of the worst-case scenario, but there are many forms of child abuse, some being worse than others. When children get in trouble, the first instinct most parents have is to spank them. Is this an acceptable form of punishment? Many people view this topic differently; some people believe it is acceptable because they were spanked as a child, and other people see it as completely unacceptable due to the fact that it is inflicting pain on a child. Some physical punishment is worse than others, but any form of physical punishment to children is considered child abuse.
