Growing up I watched a lot of T.V. and movies. Among other things I really looked up and idolized different celebrities. My thoughts were always this: how can I become like that? Thoughts turned into dreams, dreams turned into actions and everything after that was designed to obtain these goals. From time to time I would see my “heroes” advertise different products; on some occasions this would incline me to buy this product just to be associated with the name, other times I would look and laugh knowing full well that this product could do nothing more then push me farther away from what I was trying to become. These celebrities still give me motivation to this day to work harder and strive for my goals. Never once have I interpreted their message as a promotion for a shortcut to success. …show more content…
The article "Kids Finally Speak on Celebrity-Based Ads for Food and Beverages raises many good points and very valid and interesting surveys. In my personal opinion I believe celebrities should be given the right to endorse whichever product they would like, however it would create universal change in how today 's youth works and therefore should prompt many companies to deny or even dismiss the thought of having celebrities endorse unhealthy products. Celebrities today, should have the power to choose what they’d like endorse (they should make a wise choice).
