Water is one of the most essential things to man. We need it to survive and to prosper. Without water, literally everything would die. That’s why it is getting kind of crazy over in California with the drought that has been going on for the past how many years. Citizens of California are getting anxious and waiting for the rain to start falling. They are having troubles with crops and habitats being dry of any water. Scientists are trying to figure out how long this has been going on and how much longer it will be going on. Drought impacts the land and society in many different ways. It affects the water flow in the rivers and streams which are making lakes start to decrease in depth. The waterline has dropped dramatically in recent years.

States surrounding the drought and the rest of the country are being impacted by the shortage of water. Of the vegetables and fruits in our country, over 90% come from California. With the water shortage and all of the fruits and vegetables being grown, prices are going to rise and the amount of food is going to drop.
