Topic- Bronco Transportation
Focus- The focus of this project is to inform the manager of Bronco Transportation of the issues I have found in the Bronco Transportation system. I found three main issues in the Bronco Transportation system such as overcrowding buses, non use of seat belts, and many illnesses that come with riding public buses. The reason I choose to do this project on public transportation here at at Western Michigan University is because the dangers of this topic should be brought to the table. Recently, while riding a campus shuttle I noticed that the buses here on campus should be made larger for a better riding experience. In the article I learned why overcrowding buses are dangerous, things such as it causes frequent injuries, increased driver distractions and balance issues. Public transportation also does not have seatbelts for its riders, which is extremely dangerous. As a kid, I was always told to wear my seatbelt and to get to college and ride a city bus for the first time and not have a seat belt was a slight change. If the bus was to get into an accident what would happen? Would the riders fly out the windows? How many deaths does not wearing a seat belt effect now? Why are seat belts important? Buses also carry thousands of germs in, which can cause many passagenders to be more prone to illnesses. Flu season peaks from December to January I feel as if especially between those times the bus drives should take time to Lysol down the poles on the bus along with the seats. After completing project three I hope to learn more about many ways to help the Bronco Transportation system become more successful and how improving these issues will affect the students here at Western Michigan
