Persuasive Essay On Breastfeeding

“I have questions, so many questions!” I said to my doctor, as frantically searched through my purse. I was coming to end of pregnancy, and as a new mother had to make a lot of decisions. One of them being should I breast feed? In this paper, I will address the many questions of breast feeding such as: what are the advantages of breastfeeding, why would a mother not choose to breast feed, what are some challenges of breastfeeding, and how can the father assist the mother in breast feeding process.
There are many advantages to breastfeeding. Babies are expensive, plain and simple. With everything from clothes, diapers, furniture, car seats, and much more. Continuing on with the health benefits, breast milk is much easier for babies to digest because the protein in formula is made from cow milk, which means it’ll take time for the babies’ stomach to adjust. Not only does breast feeding benefit the baby, but it also helps the mother. Breast feeding has been linked to lower risk of breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, and postpartum depression.
Among the many benefits, breast feeding may also help the development of an infant's cognitive understanding of sensory abilities. “A mother who breast feeds provides her baby with a multimedia event: the baby hears, sees, and feels her.” Beginning with hearing, “research
