A responsible teenager could be breaking the law without even knowing, for one single reason, she went babysitting without a license in Colorado. Now, organizations such as Red cross offer babysitting, classes, however, in the State of Colorado the class is not . However, there is a new law that is under review that if passed it would force teenagers across Colorado, to attend a babysitting course that is both expensive and time-consuming. That is why forcing teens to pass a babysitting class will kill the economy, put children at a higher risk of danger, and change family roles forever. A law forcing all teenage babysitters to acquire a license would destroy the economy. This law could easily kill the economy by forcing children and parents to lose their job. Leaving teen babysitters with one choice, to quit their babysitting jobs, forcing parents to quit their jobs and stay home with their sons and daughters. Now these babysitters haven’t made money for a while and decide to finally receive certification and have to beg for up to one hundred and twenty nine dollars for a one-day certification class that doesn’t even include CPR or AED training. That is a ridiculous price to pay, especially for a child that has been without a job for quite a while and is lacking money. …show more content…
On average an uncertified babysitter receives eleven dollars an hour in Colorado. However, a certified babysitter costs around thirteen dollars an hour. Two dollars may not seem comparable to the loss of a child, however that is seven hundred and thirty dollars extra a year for one hour days. That is a ridiculous cost increase that could help in countless other places. By passing this law, there is a forced a price increase which innumerable parents may not be willing or able to pay which will them to leave their children
