You hear a noise in the room, and when you get up to investigate; there is a man tip-toeing through your living room towards the kids’ room. At this point all you can do is call the police, but by the time you do that it might be too late. You have no idea who this man is or what he is attempting to do. It’s 2016 and in America we’ve encountered many at-home tragedies that could’ve been prevented. One’s worst nightmare is their family being in danger and their ability to do anything about it is out of their reach. At this point in our generation it’s safe to say our fate is not in our hands. Therefore, we should be able to defend ourselves in any way possible and that would by having no restriction on the use and marketing of assault weapons. In this contradicting subject, it’s safe to say that although weapons shouldn’t be restricted, all types of weapons shouldn’t be sold either. Some being more dangerous than the other, we must not forget the reason we would obtain one. The goal is to defend ourselves and our families not to automatically try to kill someone. Criminals are somehow able to buy guns even when the law says they should be prohibited. We need to enforce existing laws first before trying to solve issues by making more laws . Inventing a system of banning assault weapons will be the initial problem. For example, the laws that already associate with this issue are ineffectual. Some of these guns are really just ordinary rifles; therefore it is hard for legislators to successfully regulate them without banning half the handguns in the country. It would be nearly impossible to satisfy the people with the type of gun restrictions.
