Animal Testing - ProCon.org sates, “The 1950’s sleeping pill thalidomide, which caused 10,000 babies to be born with severe deformities, was tested on animals prior to its commercial release.” Even though this product was tested on animals and worked very well, 10,000 babies were still born with deformities and were affected by the pill. As said on Animal Testing - ProCon.org, “Animal tests on arthritis drug Vioxx showed that it had a protective effect on hearts of mice, yet the drug went on to cause more than 27,000 heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths before being pulled from the market.” This shows how easy it is for an animals to pass a test for a product, even though it can still very harmful to humans. …show more content…
