ANIMAL TESTING In today’s society, many people have debated over the idea of vivisection otherwise known as animal testing. This controversial topic questions whether people should make animals submit for the greater good of humanity or to not be utilized as animal test subjects. It’s has been in debate since the seventieth century. The majority of states in the past several years have passed laws regarding animal testing; saying it should be more humanized. Many people would think animal testing is a merciless method used by scientist to test items such as cosmetic, hygienic products, and medicine. Others may think testing on animals is necessary to see if it would be safe for humans

Animal testing has to do with the experimental testing on animals for research purposes. These purposes include cosmetics such as makeup, shampoo, hair and skin products. Also, medication that was recently developed would be given to animal to see if it would be safe for humans to take. One example is, ” The use of animals as subjects to generate scientific and medical evidence through experimentation is highly controversial…Advocates of animal testing argue that the practice is good science that produces data crucial for developing medicines and combating disease and to help learn the effects of commercial and industrial products on humans. Detractors claim it is pseudoscience, as the tests cause undue harm and suffering to the animals, the results generated are of dubious use for human research, and that better results can be generated through non-animal based alternatives.” ( Brian Regal). Brian explains the overall crux of animal testing. He also explains how this topic is a sensitive for the people, especially the activists. Not everybody agrees with one another, thus creating this argumentative topic. To put it briefly, animal testing is something not everyone agrees on because it is basically the killing of innocent animals for humans to live a better and safe life.
