Persuasive Essay On Animal Farm

Many have plans for the future and what they want to do, however, they don’t always work out. For example, many people decide to save money for important causes but end up spending it all for themselves. Or some people plan to be successful and wealthy, but then their plan does not unfold the right way. A foiled plan is exactly what happened with the pigs on Animal Farm.
The pigs started out with intentions of overthrowing the humans on the farm and establish that animals are the superior species. They also promise the animals that they will have shorter work hours, more food, and better living conditions. This is backed by the pigs’ idea to build a windmill which will help produce electricity and assist in the farming on Animal Farm. Animals on the farm were thrilled with the news that they’d have more food and work less. The pigs wanted to make sure that Animal Farm would be an even better place than before.

However, they quickly veered off track of their original plans. Suddenly, Squealer announces that all apples and milk were to be fed to only the pigs to ensure the health of the pigs that take on the hard work of the farm. Squealer is able to put the picture in the animals minds that they are justified in doing this. He argues his point by saying, “Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig.” The animals trust in the pigs that they are making the right decision. Eventually, the pigs start making the little lies have more and more of an impact on the animals of Animal Farm. These lies include the delay of the promise of fewer work hours and more food. The pigs of the farm reassure that soon after lots of hard labor that the animals will be able to have fewer work hours and more

I can support this inference with multiple text details. First of all the pigs force the other animals to work for them, while they themselves do nothing. The pigs also lie to the other animals at almost all times, only to benefit themselves. They live like kings, while the other animals barely survive in stalls with minimal amounts of food. At the end of the book the pigs craft the ultimate rule “ All animals are equal but some animals are MORE equal”…

One of the ways they did this was with saying things like "Jones will come back". None of the animals on the farm ever liked Mr. Jones, so when they were convincing the animals that something was right and this way is the best way, they would use "surely, you don't want Jones to come back". The animal government also switched the Seven Commandments around, and then used propaganda to convince the animals that it was fine, with an element of fear. Since the pigs were the head of the farm and they made all the decisions, they "deserved" to have the extra milk and apples and sleep in beds. Without all those things, they would not be able to make the best decisions for the farm and the other animals, and the farm would fall apart.…

So far in sections one and two of Micheal Pollan, The Omnivores Dilemma, it seems as is all food chains have negative effects on us, the enviorment, as well as the animals we get it from. However that is not true. In this section, Micheal Pollan argues that the food chain called Local Sustainable is the best food chain there is for everyone and everything, they do not use chemical fertilizers or chemical pesticde which is harmful to everyone, they don’t pollute they enviorment because they recyle everything used in the farm and thye don’t burn fossil fuels, and before the animals live their lives as free wild animas should. One piece of the argument that Michael Pollan sides with-that the Local Sustainable food chain is the best one for us,…

Argument: Throughout the ending of the book the pigs has led to changing the seven commandments into one rule of Animal Farm ‘’all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”. The pigs are shown as the smartest animal on the farm and they take advantage of their knowledge. So they use propaganda to get the Animal Farm to work hard meanwhile the pigs get rich. Snowball and Napoleon would all ways disagree on arguments.…

Wilber opened his eyes and found himself sleeping in his bed. He felt somewhat disorientated from an odd dream. Around the farm while Wilber worked, he often heard tales of days when all of the animals ate plenty of food and everyone worked happily, but nobody believed that they were true. Being a young piglet, Wilber also believed that life had always been like it was. In Wilber’s dream however the days of contentment became a reality.…

One way we are shown in this extract that the pigs are in control would be through the revelation that the pigs have been educating themselves in private, without the other animals knowing about it. The pigs “now revealed that during the past three months they had taught themselves to read and write” and the other animals were not part of this education, which suggests the pigs had control over how much they wanted the other animals to know and, if the pigs didn’t want the other animals to learn things or even know what the pigs were up to behind closed doors, the pigs wouldn’t allow that to happen. This is as a result of the intelligence that the pigs have due to teaching themselves from “an old spelling book which had belonged to Mr. Jones’s children and which had been thrown on the rubbish heap” that the other animals didn’t have access to. The fact the pigs ‘revealed’ this to the animals suggests that they knew it was unjust to prevent the other animals from having access to the same information as them and so they wanted to keep it a secret for as long as possible so that they could have enough knowledge to take control of the animals. This prevented the animals from being able to stop the pigs from taking control because they were not at the same level of intelligence to do so.…

Introduction One might think that it’s not very likely that two novels written approximately 66 years apart would have much in common. In this essay I have digged deep to find similarities between Animal Farm (by George Orwell, 1945) and Shatter Me (Tahereh Mafi, 2011). Totalitarianism a system of government that is centralized and dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state.1 Is shown in both books, in Animal Farm it is the pigs on the farm and in Shatter Me it is shown through the governing body Titled ‘The reestablishment’. Rebuilding society with lies…

The pigs would always tell the animals if they did not listen to them “Jones would come back.” This was a never ending cycle that instilled fear in the farm. The pigs used the fear of losing the farm to persuade the other animals into doing their bidding. This is not how the animals originally thought the farm was going to be ran. The pigs are the higher class, and get the extra amenities while the other animals work and get less food, of lesser quality, than the pigs get every day for doing…

After the harvest of apples and the gathering of milk, the pigs and dogs are the only ones allowed to take part in the luxury that is eating them. This is explained by Squealer by him saying, “‘Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health,””(Orwell 31).The greed of the pigs does not lead to any society being perfect. Under rulers who are full of greed, a society is sure to fail. If anyone in the farm was to see the injustice in this, which they did, they would be sure to rebel in quiet ways. The pigs also get to have special privileges such as living in the farmhouse and drinking beer.…

In George Orwell’s novel “Animal Farm”, the pig to human transition represents how failed revolutions only end up worse than their predecessors. With Napoleon, there is an increase in dealing with humans, even though the goal of the farm is to be run by animals. The original seven commandments are constantly being modified to fit the pigs agenda. On top of all this, the living conditions get progressively worse and the animals must work harder than before. The name change from Manor Farm to Animal Farm was supposed to represent the animals taking control of the farm, but, the pigs end up mimicking human behaviours after becoming the leaders.…

Animals were facing new challenges as there were quite a lot of jobs that only a human could do, but they eventually manage with the wit of the pigs. Soon animals realised they were working even harder than they used to when Mr Jones was in charge, but the simple fact that they were free from the oppressing humans kept them happy. They were still underfed, but their sense of freedom stood ahead. As the life in the farm goes on this way, animals start to notice that the pigs were gradually starting to enjoy the luxuries of Mr Jones’ house, against which they have pledged right after the revolution. Of course, when the animals inquired about this, they got the explanation that the pigs were doing this for the well being of the animals and their philosophy, animalism.…
