When the first pit bulls came to America by English and Irish immigrants, they were a respected breed”. Also in the Blog it says that “They were kept as hunters and guardians, as well as herders and pets” .PitBulls loved their owners and will do anything to protect them. One thing that I disagree with is that in the Newspaper Editorial source four it said that “New outlets consistently tell animal control officers that they will not cover a dog attack unless the situation was caused by a pit bull ” . I think that this is unfair because one there are many other types of dogs that are dangerous and that hurt people, and the animal officers won’t attend to the problem.…

Many years ago, pit bulls were considered “Nanny dogs” because of their loyalty and gentleness toward their guardians. They were also once an American favorite, earning the title “America’s dog. ”Unfortunately, people soon found ways to exploit pit bulls’ behaviors and tendencies for dog fights, and their strong appearance became a symbol of violence, drug culture and gangs.
