Persuasive Essay On Adopting Animals

There are millions of dogs waiting in shelters hoping to find a forever home. Unfortunately, 3 to 4 million never get the chance because they are euthanized before they have a chance to find a loving home.

In 1981 The American Humane Association designated October as Adopt-A-Dog month to bring awareness to this heart breaking problem. They encourage dog lovers to consider adding a dog (or another dog) to their life.

There are so many reasons why adopting a dog is a good idea. They not only provide love and companionship they also help us deal with stress and anxiety. Dogs can help us overcome loneliness and improve our outlook on life. Research has also shown that dogs:
Lower blood pressure
Reduce the incidence of allergies and asthma
