ADHD is a highly over identified disability and is also overprescribed, since ADHD is highly over medicated health diagnoses should try to find alternative treatments. ADHD affects a lot of young kids and many adults but is mostly diagnosed for children in preschool and elementary. Affecting most kids, ADHD is also over identified in school children. When students are identified as having ADHD they are instantly labeled as having ADHD and get prescribed the drugs they need to help out with it. Allot of students now a days have ADHD and most of the students that have prescribed drugs aren't labeled as having ADHD. ADHD needs to be reexamined still because the population of people with ADHD is still very high and people are being labeled/identified as having ADHD. If more people get labeled or identified as having ADHD then the their well be a rise of prescription drugs for ADHD. Alternative treatments need to be developed to stop prescribing students that may seem like they have ADHD but they do not have it. People that don't have ADHD are still trying to find alternative treatments to provide what they need to help them. Which usually are going through mental health class, this helps you get through your problems with symptoms for ADHD but not enough to have ADHD. ADHD students have multiple different drugs that they could take to help such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin. And some even take all of them. These drugs are highly over prescribed and the overdosage of these drugs has a big impact on the streets as more people can get ahold of these drugs because they will prescribe them to people that don't even have
