Missing Out on the Lives of Unborn Babies “Consider this: More Americans have died because of abortion than have died in the Civil War, both World Wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War, and the current war in Iraq combined” (Dobson 9). Life is taken for granted nowadays. People look at pregnacy and think the woman should have total control over the baby's life. “Pregnancy is not a disease, but a beautiful office of nature” (Foster 15). A person is not guaranteed to live everyday or even the next hour or minute. So why should a woman be able to terminate the baby inside of her? Although many people see abortion as the mother’s choice, the rights of the child must be considered. Mother’s need to stand up for their children and be supported by everyone around her. The churches in America all have a different viewpoints on when life begins, but all oppose abortion. Some women believe that having an abortion will fix their problems and cause them less trouble than they already have. A large percentage of women who have abortions experience Posttraumatic Abortion Syndrome. Each woman is different on how and when she will be affected. Some of the feelings are “guilt, shame, anxiety, helplessness, grief, and remorse” (Bacon 27). The problem of being pregnant and then terminating the baby could lead to even bigger problems. Today’s society is told over and over that deeds have no punishments and that life should be self-centered with little care for others. Because the favor for abortion has been acknowledged over and over that expecting babies have no worth, many youthful humans have pursued the wrong judgement and have decided that all individuals
