Killing an unborn child is never an easy choice for people to make in their lives. No one can just nonchalantly walk into a clinic and unemotionally make the decision of getting an abortion without even blinking an eye, but abortion should remain legal. There are many reasons women get abortions. Some of these reasons are, women's rights, medical, and rape and incest. Abortions are safe and hold many values to people in these circumstances.

Women have always had a right to have an abortion. The federal law protects women's rights and has since 1983. Within the last ten years though, women's rights to abortion have been questioned. Reproductive rights make sure that women have power over their bodies. Without legal abortion could possibly do it anyway, unsafely

Operation Rescue statistics show out of every 10 abortions, one of them is from rape. Why would you force women to carry their rapist's child? And while adoption is always an option, AFCARS showed only 2,190 infants out of 31,290 in foster care were adopted. The mental impact of a rape victim is 30% higher than non-rape victims. Imagine how that would increase if they were all forced to carry their rapist's child? Pregnancies caused by incest should always be terminated. The percent of children born with life threatening defects is 30% higher in children born from incest than in non-incest children clarified Psychology Today. Rewire News stated that in a study conducted by Iowa state and planned parenthood 14% of abortions were because of domestic violence. Also, that there's reason to suspect that women in abusive relationships are more likely to experience unintended pregnancies because their abusers use sabotaging contraceptives as a tactic to keep control of the women their abusing. Making abortion illegal is traumatizing and harmful to women and the babies, especially in situations like

Rape or incest is already a huge crime in itself and to bring in abortion as a new life is developing is just double the crime. From the point of view of a former victim, she states, “I was an innocent victim of a horrible crime. I was not to blame for what the rapist did to me. But in choosing to abort, to kill the innocent child growing within me, I lowered myself to the level of the rapist.” -Patricia Ryan.…

Abortion is a touchy issue. Many say it is okay, others are totally against it, and some think it’s acceptable, depending of the circumstances. In my opinion, it’s wrong and not at all necessary, unless in the case of pregnancy, the mother is informed she will perish during the pregnancy term. Science continues to say a fetus is only a small “lump of tissue” but it isn’t, it’s human, it is a life. We are taught, “You shall not murder,” yet there are about 100, 000 lives aborted yearly.…

Many people think abortion is wrong but there are some exception. The baby can be a produced of a rape, that person can’t afford a baby, they can also want to avoid single parenthood, and for educational purpose. Being rape can mentally destroy you and having your rapist child can just kill you. They would just be a reminder of what happen to you that day. That child life can also be in danger because the mother is taking out their anger out on that child for what his/her father did to her.…

It is very hard to consider the reality of abortion by both the mother and a baby. I believe babies in mother womb are innocent, they are also a human being like us, and they have full right to live. It is wrong to do abortion because the life of the human being start from the moment of conception, it is also unsafe for a mother, and it damage the relationships among the family. Firstly, I believe doing abortion is wrong because the unborn born baby is also human beings and they have a unique gene, with genetic code from the moment of conception to death.…

There are people who insist abortion is still wrong even as a result of rape, and the woman is then forced to deal with the repercussion of something that was, not at all whatsoever, her fault. While there were many quotes I came across throughout my research on multiple viewpoints regarding abortion, one I repeatedly came across, yet could not traceback to a specific person, was “Making abortion illegal does NOT stop abortions. It stops SAFE abortions.” And this was based off research that proved, in places where abortion was outlawed, the rates of it continuing to happen, albeit illegally, barely shifted over time. The only thing outlawing abortion does, as outlined by this quote, is result in illegal and typically dangerous “homemade”…

To some women having a child can mean everything, specifically single mothers who find purpose and pride in being called a mother (Edin 207). Some women do not want children because they do not want to be mothers. There are many factors that come when one becomes a mother or when one is pregnant; the responsibility, finance, time and commitment for a child can be too much for someone and can lead them to not want the child. The social and acceptable norm is becoming pregnant by consensual sexual intercourse between a man and a woman after wedlock.…

Abortion and teen pregnancy rates go hand in hand. This is a topic that many try to avoid discussing, due to the broad range of strong opinions that many people have on taking away an unborn life. This being said, if you unexpectedly got pregnant, would or could you ever think of abortion as being a solution? The United States Supreme Court's decision on making abortion a constitutional right has made an enormous impact on these rates. Teen pregnancy has been a controversial topic for many years and is even more prevalent in today’s generation.…

Many have different reason to why they do, but either way it is wrong and it should not be legal. Throughout the years, the abortion rate has gone up severely. All of the abortions that happen can not just be from health issues or rape. A study shows that many abortions recently are just because the mother is not ready for a baby. “In 2010, more than half of all pregnancies were unintended in 28 states; in the remainder of the states, a minimum of 36% of pregnancies were unintended” (Wind, 1).…

Another reason abortion should be legal is because it is safe. Women are going to have abortions whether any one approves or not. This is why abortion being legal will help cut down on the unsafe abortions happening in the world. There are “21.6 million women experiencing unsafe abortions world wide, 47,000 women die from complications of unsafe abortions each year”(World Health Organization). The deaths of unsafe abortion remain close to 13%.…
