Abortion is a controversial issue with much debate. Many are for it, but some wonder if it violates the value of life. Abortion should be legal because women who are raped should not have to carry their rapist's child, if either the mother or fetus is at harm or will develop symptoms of disabilities, the pregnancy should not be forced to be carried out, and some women can’t afford a child or it may complicate their life status. First, a pregnancy should be allowed to be terminated if a woman is raped. In Paraguay an 11-year old girl, recently gave birth due to the fact she was denied an abortion seeing that her life was not in danger. (Servin) The mother asked for a fetus removal for her girl, however the administration declined to permit it, drawing admiration from religious gatherings yet disapproval from numerous human rights associations, including U.N. authorities.
