My advice to makayla is to never get stuck on one question no longer than five minutes. It's okay to skip a question and come back to it later once you have answer all of the other questions. It's also okay to guess intelligently on some of the questions. I feel that you shouldn't always linger on the same questions, because that can cause you to loose most of you time on the test. Reading is something many people take for granted; in fact, it is sometimes a struggle to persuade people to read at all. In schools, there are typically a group of students that are “below-average” who have an “I don’t care” type of attitude towards learning and reading. This attitude causes them to receive poor grades in their classes and they make life strenuous on themselves. On the other spectrum are the areas where being able to read means you have great intelligence and great privilege. Reading and books aren’t as common and people aren’t gaining as much information as they could.…

Reading is such a focal part of my life that I sometimes lose sight of the fact that many people can't do it. Aside from the more practical and obvious benefits of a more literate society, those who can read and write suddenly have a way to change their lives and their world. Dear Editor, During this constitutional convention, I’ve noticed things that were said on the federalist and the anti-federalist side. I have taken the side of the federalist and agreed completely on what they all have said. We have covered all subjects such as: Separation of powers/checks and balances, the elastic clause, Congressional powers of taxation and war, and A bill of rights. When discussing the separation of powers, we all agreed that having a checks and balances system would suit us best; therefore, there won’t be any one person in charge there would be three branches of government.…

For many years paper and ink were the only available platform for reading and transcribing the written word but with a recent surge in reading amongst younger generations and several advances in technology have caused a demand for alternative options to bulky and damage prone paper and ink tomes. Many booksellers rose to the challenge by creating new eReaders capable of holding several hundred books in a small electronic tablet. Though many people enjoy using these tablets for reading, there has been a large and vocal percent of readers who refuse to forsake the world of rustling pages and bound covers. I, personally have no issues with this and indeed would prefer Ink and paper to the electronic copy if I had a choice. Because of this stance I find it particularly discouraging when readers are…less than kind about another’s choice of eReader or book.…

The best way for the school to spend a gift of $5,000 would be two different possibilities that I would argue. I would argue that the school should buy physical books or more personal chromebooks. I say this because many students struggle without a physical copy of the book to take home. Teachers complain to the students that we are not reading, or taking enough initiative, but how are we supposed to read when we don’t have the book, and most children do not have the internet. Chromebooks would be a good addition because every teacher uses them over and over; however, we only have two carts in the school.…
