Humans Suck
Humanity is coming to an end. Katharine Hepburn “We are taught you must blame your father, your sisters, your brothers, the school, the teachers - but never blame yourself. It 's never your fault. But it 's always your fault, because if you want change you 're the one who has got to change.” Elders are abused by kids and the ones they love. Education is failing, and the economy is collapsing. The police are corrupt. Politicians lie, and presidents trick us. The government builds half as many schools as prisons. What 's popular is more important than what 's right. The ‘likes’ on my instagram picture determine my self-worth. My life is limited to 140 characters (twitter.com). Money is the dictator of all evil. The average person spends nearly four years of his life looking at his phone. Selfies are a symptom of narcissism. If I want to post an old picture, why must I have to wait until Thursday? Skype is the only face to face communication we choose to have. The average attention span of an adult today is one second less than that of a goldfish. So if you have yet to zone off or pull out your phone, congratulations. We choose not to do what we love, because it doesn 't pay enough. Technology has given us everything we could possibly want, but is taking away what we really need. There hasn 't been a disease cured in thirty-five years. Why? Because a disease cured is a customer lost. You know the government is broken, when laws are made to prevent donors from losing profits. Why is it, that you can go and risk your life fighting for this country, but you will never be given half the attention than the man who talks about how he rarely drinks beer but when he does he drinks Dos Equis?
