A term that can help with this is scaffolding, which refers to intentionally structuring an event to enhance a child’s learning (Flora & Segrin pg.151). How parents structure these events is by making a chore list. A chore list does help enhance a child’s learning skills by keep them in a structured order where they have specific chores that they have to accomplish by the end of the week. When they accomplish this they are awarded and the parent gives them the award. Having the child know and trust their parent will give them an award for doing something right is critical for the parent child relationship. Having a trusting bond and not a false one makes sure that they maintain a healthy relationship where they can count on one another.
