The fact that there is a debate on whether health care is a right of every American or not is just astonishing. How is it that there are people deciding whether other human beings should have rights? What makes those people who are deciding the “worthy” ones? It honesty baffles me that some think that just because someone is poor, a minority, a woman, or of a different sexual orientation then suddenly they don’t have certain rights, and eventually there could be a vote for them to have it or to not have it. Why are some people considered less than others just because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion? Isn’t it stated, in the founding document of this nation, that all “all men are created equal” (Declaration of Independence)? One of those things is health care for all. For some odd reason, some people believe that health care shouldn’t be affordable and accessible to all. There are people in this world who fought Obama when he was trying to create Obama care, and disagree with the idea of making health care in America like that of Germany or Canada. Their reason for that argument is that it will cost people to pay more taxes, yet they don’t seem to have a problem funding their taxes towards the military. Not only are some of the general public against that idea, but some of the government officials are as well for reasons that are unknown. Politicians, especially since the majority of them are wealthy and can afford to pay all that money, can’t really be arguing on whether something should be made affordable to others.
