Persuasive Essay Grading

There are students today that are extremely smart but never get a good grade in class because of the standard grading scale known in almost every school. The standard grading scale is a five letter grading scale that determines if the student passses or not. In America everybody knows when it is report card day because parents know that their kids should be bringing home a report card to measure how their kid is doing in school. This has corrupted our country and how parents expect their kids to bring home a report card with all A’s. Some students are extremely smart but may have a behavior problem and the teacher not ever even give the student a chance when grading because of the behavior. The grading scale is not fair towards all students and should be removed out of all schools. The grading scale should be removed because it causes low self esteem and stress on some students. However, we have to look towards our future of the country and have to stop putting kids down in school from bad grades. What about the kids that won’t do there work at all if there isn’t grades being gave out? There would have to be a punishment for not attempting the work at all but no grade because that can lead to the student being scared of even trying. Can this really help the future of our country? The answer is yes. The students right now are the future of our country. We can’t keep putting some students down with bad grades when they could actually be a genius and help the future design of this country. We will never know though if we don’t remove this degrading measurement of student’s success and actually see what the student’s can do without the restriction of grades and possibility of failure.
