Your kid is average, has a 3.2 gpa, and played football once? Perfect. Here’s $30,000. Just make sure you check the box that states that he is eligible for free lunch. Now, this kid gets to go to medical school for free, while salutatorian is flipping burgers at McDonald’s to pay off that one book on “The History of Community College”. For this reason, I have devised a plan to make college tuition and financial aid fair for everyone. I propose to take away financial help and scholarships, all in all, lower the cost of tuition overall, and let the people afford what they can. It’s a perfect solution. The rich kids will be able to attend their top schools as their daddy had always wanted, and the poor kids can fit in with society's expectations of them by attending community college or dropping out altogether. The big picture here, has many more advantages.
For one, colleges will be making more money since they no longer have to offer financial aid or scholarships. Think of all of that wasted money that would have been spent on that poor kid that never actually had a chance at University of Pennsylvania! And, think of how much better the campus will look, since of course the institution will put all of it’s saved money into making the University’s environment somewhere where everyone feels at
