“Students cited not liking school, failing school and not getting along with teachers are the three most frequently cited reasons for dropping out”. As a first time college student walking through campus, it can feel overwhelming. Looking around, you see this modern campus with huge space all around you, and your first impression is how would you navigate through it by yourself? Everybody is rushing to class, and you are probably shy to stop anybody to ask where a building is located. But, for a college student, it is great to ask for help in any area that you need help with. Also at GCC, they are a lot of programs that can help you to be successful in reaching your goals. It’s popularity can be seen by how busy the fitness center can get. When I began my college career I was not as in shape or healthy as I am now. This is because I have been able to use the fitness center each and every day that I am on campus. It is a somewhat isolated place, located completely on one end of the campus. It’s location allows for students to be able to hang out and relax; a place to get away from their classes and not to worry about the courses they are in. The Fitness Center has computers in a small room and there’s no restroom directly next to it. It gives the directions of where the Fitness Center is and the building code. Additionally, it tells one where the nearest restroom is at. If a new student wants to stay in good shape and/or do something with his/her spare time, they can come here. Students that are new to GCC would benefit greatly from learning about this location because, since the fitness center is almost always busy with students and staff constantly coming and going, it would make it much easier for them to meet new people and begin to develop some close friendships. The Fitness Center shares it’s space with the facilities management office and what looks to be a computer
