Persuasive Essay Basketball

Basketball is my favorite sport, not that I know how to play very well. It consist of at least 5 starting players but you’re going to need about 10 more for the bench to replace your starting 5 when they get tired. Your starting 5 consist of your point guard(P.G), shooting guard(S.G.), small forward (S.F.), power forward (P.F.), and center (C).
When you are playing against another team you play for 4 quarters, in the NBA they play 12min a quarter. You can shoot 2pointers or 3 pointers.
You also can get foul points if someone physically touches you anyway while trying to guard you or stop you from shooting your shot, you may get a free throw shot depending where you were fouled at can determine how many shots you shoot. Unless you was fouled

Out of bounds which are also called boundary lines are the big rectangle surrounding the court. Going out of bounds will be a turnover which means the other team gets the ball. The three-point line is the semi-circle surrounding the basket and if shot behind this line is worth three points, also that is where the point guard, shooting guard, and small forward usually play.…

In the 21st century, it's common to know at least one person that does drugs, whether it be a friend or a family member. Among those people are athletes and high school students in general. Knowing this, I do not think high school sport players should be obligated to take regular drug tests. Playing a sport professionally and playing a sport for a high school are two different things. One big difference is that professional players make a lot of money, while high school players don't make any profit.…

For the pick and roll to work the two players have to be in synch. The center has to set a good screen meaning the center cannot move after the setting the screen which would cause the offensive foul and has to make sure there is no space between them where the opposing point guard can get through. The responsibility of executing a good pick and roll doesn’t go solely on the center; the point guard has to do his part in maneuvering around the screen fast enough that the opposing guard cannot get through but also slow enough that his center has enough time to set the screen. The pick and roll is a very important play that has been used for a long time to run a team…

This is not something you can learn and rather something you have to develop by playing a lot and understanding the game. You've got to have that mentality that your team can still score and win without you really scoring rather doing other stuff like rebounding and assisting and developing this is very hard and takes a lot of time and days in the gym and watching the game. It can seem confusing at times but that is what makes the game so competitive and hard to play. There's many ways of helping your teammates score like setting screens, drawing the defender, and assisting/rebounding. People who call the game of basketball easy are very naive and have to try themselves in order to know how hard it really is.…
