One of the most controversial topic in our current society is the discussion about abortion. The question, if women should have the right to terminate a pregnancy, sparks a variety of reactions regardless of gender. A pregnancy has a monumental influence not only on the female body but on a women’s life in general. The future of this female might be at stake, and not every pregnancy occurs by choice. It seems cruel to take away a woman’s power over her own body in order to guarantee the same rights this female is stripped off to a foetus – the right to live their life by choice. Equalising the life of a foetus with the life of a living female is more than disputable.
This essay will give a short introduction on the controversy of the topic before explaining two mayor stands: pro-life and pro-choice. The main body of this essay will contain arguments of both sides either against or for abortion including their reasoning behind their arguments. The conclusion of this essay will show my own opinion as a woman on the topic, explaining why I argue for the right of all females to be able to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. …show more content…
This debate requires receptiveness and knowledge as it has tremendous repercussions on people’s lives, and especially on the pregnant woman who might not want her pregnancy to continue for a variety of reasons.
