Using animals for lousy tests is wrong and should be banned. They should be entitled to the rights we have. Everyday humans are using defenseless animals for cruel and useless tests. The animals cannot fight, and protect themselves therefore we must. There should be more laws to protect the animals we know and love. A major ethical issue of this is that poor animals suffer with pain and discomfort. In 2010 alone: 1,395 primates, 5,996 rabbits, 33,662 guinea pigs, and 48,888 hamsters were used for studies! People should not do animal testing, reason being that there are so many bad possibilities that can happen while doing this testing: Animal testing is cruel and inhumane, animal testing is unreliable, and animal testing can be extremely dangerous. …show more content…
The Humane Society states: “Animals used in experiments are commonly subjected to force feeding, forced inhalation, food, water prolonged for long periods, physical restraint, and a list more. Which may cause burns, wounds, cuts, and an additional amount more.” This means that many animals are suffering in pain and torture. Innocent and non guilty animals are being hurt because of the bed science tests we use on them. For example: The Draize Eye test, which contains rabbits being incapacitated in stocks with eyelids held open with clips! A countless of animals are also killed after their use or kept in captivity their whole life. The effect of this happening is that so many animals are used and killed each year. The pets used are loving and innocent so why are they treated this way? How would anyone like it if their own pet was used for devastating tests? Research shows that nie out of ten times the tests don’t work! Without a doubt, animal testing should be banned or blocked, because it is cruel and

Maybe one day technology will have advanced so far as to render animal testing unnecessary, which would be ideal, but that day is simply not today. However we must not be wanton or ruthless in our testing of animals, just as animal test subjects are necessary so are the ethical and moral policies that regulate animal testing. Scientific advancement should never rely on what is blatantly cruel and scientists should always strive to do as little harm or cause as little distress as possible to their test subjects. Animal testing can lead to great advancements in medical technology and it is our job to make sure that we take the comfort and well being of the animals being tested into account. After all, to anthropomorphize for a moment, isn’t that the least we can do for the beings who are helping us treat all the diseases we are susceptible…

The testing on animals is a very touchy subject. It makes people wonder whether or not its cruel to advance technology by killing innocent animals. Killing animals for testing has its benefits but it's still inhumane to do that to animals. It can destroy populations of animals if tested often and if every lab has its own supply of animals the populations will drop by extreme numbers. The animals that are tested on often get terrible treatment as the people testing on them know they will soon die.…

These are crucial points to ban animal testing. When you take animals and conduct experiments on them it affects them deeply. “The Draize Eye Test is used by cosmetic companies to study irritation caused by shampoos and other products, involves rabbits being held in stocks with their eyelids held open by clips, sometimes for multiple days, so they cannot blink away the products being tested” (Costa). Why Animal Testing Should Be Banned Everyday innocent animals are being forced into labs and tested for human research advancement. Cruelty Free International states how approximately 115 million animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, dogs and monkeys are used in dangerous laboratory experiments every year. In fact, many of the experiments are said to be useless tests, as stated, “The reality is that the majority of animal experiments do not contribute to improving human health, and the value of the role that animal experimentation plays in most medical advances is questionable” (“Animal Testing is Bad Science”). Misconceptions by the media may stretch the idea how animal testing can cure diseases, illnesses etc.. But actually, as emphasized, animal testing is an inefficient way of finding medical advances, making the procedures to be unnecessary and making there be no reason to force animals into labs without a choice, it's blatantly a waste of animals lives.…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…
