Almost twenty-six million animals are used for commercial and scientific testing in the United States every year, and it’s time to put a stop to this form of animal cruelty. Medical treatments, toxicity in medication, chemical reactions, and commercial use are only some of the many products tested on animals, supposedly for our safety. Does that make it okay though? In my opinion, no that does not make it right when there are alternative options for researchers to use.
Testing on animals for our own selfish reasons is cruel and inhumane. Animals inhabited for experimentation are often force fed, deprived of essential resources like food and water, pain infliction, and physical restraints for long periods of time. Some cosmetic companies use rabbits to test skin and eye irritation by restraining their eyes for several days at a time. Some also agree that there is no other form of testing other than on a living organism. Without testing on animals they wouldn’t have found new medications but in reality no matter how many medicines there are, people need to die because of the process of natural selection. No matter what they found in the past that can change because of the better more accurate ways of testing, so they need to end this form on animal cruelty. Companies don’t want to take the risks, what kind of risks are they talking about when testing on animals for human use can lead to inaccurate information. It’s illogical to keep using these innocent ansinal when there are human cells that can be used and give better results. Most of these animals are not protected by the animal welfare act subjecting them to be more prone to animal abuse, these companies have been taking this testing too
