The use of animals for commercial and scientific testing is inhumane. According to Dawkins, “all suffering is undesirable, whether it be in humans or animals”. The tests need to be conducted on animals because we don’t know what the reaction will be. Test subjects that are used go through endless suffering and pain on a daily basis because the research conducted isn’t near perfection. The scientists who are using animals as their test subject do not care about the animal’s lives. When the animals are being used as test subjects, they go through a lot of different reactions. Those animals are not given any anesthesia or pain relievers. A lot of animals are dead on a daily basis due to testing …show more content…
According to Watts, “computer models, such as virtual reconstructions of human molecular structures, can predict the toxicity of substances without invasive experiments on animals”. This means that better and more accurate ways to collect data exist which can replace the use of animals, but people are still using animals for commercial and scientific testing. Using those other ways to replace the animals for research will lessen the number of animals dying and suffering. While using those other ideas the technology can be improved and it is also saving
