Today, more animals are being used for experiments than ever before. In the United States alone, about one hundred million animals are being used for experimentation (Goodman). This has been a controversial topic for several decades and today it is not any different. Animal experimentation is crucial in biomedical research because it is needed for advancements in human health. There are no other alternatives to animal experimentation that are as effective. Animals are very similar to humans. Chimpanzees share 99% of their DNA with humans, and mice share 98% of their DNA with humans (Animal Testing).
