An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy normally performed within the first 26 weeks of gestation. Abortion has been around since the 1800’s. We shouldn’t change that now. A woman has the right to her body, whether that means having a baby or having an abortion.
If you look at this closely enough you will realize that it isn’t a clear decision. 18.6% of births are aborted, that means for every 1,000 births 186 are abortions. But, not every mother or couple has a choice. The mother could be in danger of losing her life. 120,000 babies are born with health defects. You may argue that it is harder to live with aborting your child, than to at least try to help it be happy. But there is no way to know if your child is in pain everyday. It would be more pain for both of you without an abortion. A birth without complications costs anywhere from $9,600-$15,800. A birth with complications can cost anywhere from $13,010-$21,700. Abortions should be available when needed.
Over the past few years the percentage of teen girls to get pregnant have increased. An abortion is effectively a medical decision and it should be made between the mother and her doctor. A woman should not be forced to have a child, and it would make little sense for a woman to have a child when they may not be ready. It would be unfair to not only the mother, but the child as well, the child may not receive the level of care that it deserves. Mothers may choose abortion because they are not prepared to have a child, it makes no sense for the mother to be forced into parenthood. After the child is born, the only people that will be there to support it would be its parents, and if the parents are not ready, there will be no way for the child receive the care it…

I agree with this quote very much, many teens are afraid on what their parents will do than from what the right thing is. Which is what then leads to thoughts of having abortions, because they don't want to be kicked out of the house or maybe beaten. In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court had decided to legalize abortions; since then, there have been more than 58 million abortions performed in the United States. According to Snyder in his article, “every single day, more than 3,000 American babies are killed by abortion.” Why is it that the 9/11 tragedy, which killed almost 3000 people, is still a huge issue up until today, but when it comes to the issue of abortion, almost everyone is taking it for granted? People might think that the unborn babies feel no pain, but believe it or not, surgeon Robert P. N. Shearin claims that they can experience pain as early as 8 weeks old! The issue of abortion has always been one of the most controversial political issues in the United States.…
