As anyone who has ever become burdened with pressure from school may know, sports can help calm and relieve stress. According to an article written by Tim O’ Shei, “Physical activity can be the antidote to relieving stress hormones” (12). More specifically, he states that, “Stepping away from your books for softball practice can help sharpen your brain” (O’Shei 12). This stands to prove that school sports are one of the key components to relieving stress and pressure from students’ daily lives. For this reason young adults should participate in athletic programs to help them succeed in their remaining school years.
