People are good. People’s actions can be bad. As the saying goes, bad things happen to good people. Wars happen all around the world every day. Innocent people die. Nobody deserves to die. But it happens. Wars are not the only place in which people die before their time. Drive-by shootings happens all the time as do school school shootings. School violence includes more than shootings, though. Bullying is included under that category. There are many reasons as to why someone would feel the need to harm or kill another person but no matter what it is unnecessary and should be stopped. School violence is not only due to bullying, but also the lack of God in American school systems and America in general, and excessive media violence.

“In 2002, a report released by the U.S. Secret Service concluded that bullying played a significant role in school shootings and that efforts should be made to eliminate bullying behavior” (Ferrell-Smith). Not everybody that has been bullied feels that they need to hurt someone else. Mental illness plays a big part also. Psychopaths are generally the ones to kill other people but more than just mentally ill people are bullied. Bully victims can have low self-esteem and/or depression well into adulthood. Sixty percent of male bullies from sixth through ninth grade were convicted of at least one crime by the age of 24 compared to their non-bully counterparts at 23 percent. School shooters and bullies do not do their act just because. School shooters are often victims of bullying so they end up feeling and acting like a victim. The crazy ones make hit lists and some go through with it. Others do not even make a hit list. They simply go into a school and shoot people. It is a real shame for people who do this. Professionals need to get into their minds and figure out why they want to do such an act and try to convince them
