Everyone has been asked, at least once, the question, “What are you going to do about paying for college?” Some simply aren’t going, because they don’t have a way to pay for it. Some people are going to say that they have been saving, others say that they are getting scholarships. Then you have the people that say they are taking out student loans. Whatever it may be, you still need money. You don’t just need to pay for your courses but everything else that comes with living alone. There are several challenges that come up when you are talking about paying for not only college, but for the “college experience.” There are always going to be challenges you have to face furthering your education, but you have the power to take control. What exactly is room and board, you may ask. Room and board is paying for the college to house and feed you. Most colleges make the incoming freshman have dorms. The average cost of room and board is between 7,500 and 9,000 dollars, and is rising. Some of you say that you just won’t live on campus, but as I said before, most colleges want their incoming freshman to live on campus because it is usually the first time students are without their parents to hold their hands. One possible solution to this problem, and pretty much any financial challenge you have in college, is to buckle down and get a job. I know for some that is a scary thought, being a full time college student, and then putting the pressure of a job on your shoulders. In some college town, there are employers that will work around your class schedule so you can stay caught up with your homework.
