I also live very close to most of my family members on my mother’s side. My great-grandfather split his farmland among his eight children. They each got two acres to build a house on for their family. Most of the children still live on the farmland, so I see most of my family members on a daily basis. Both of my parents work long hours, so I was responsible for helping my brother with his homework when we got home from school. Also, when I was old enough …show more content…

Education is very important to my family. My parents always encourage my brother to do the best he can. Also, my brother’s school work comes first, and then the sports he plays. For me, my parents make sure that I have everything I need to succeed in college. Also, my parents expect me to work hard for everything that I have. When I was sixteen, I started working. I only made minimum wage, but I was expected to pay for my gas, and part of my car insurance. This helped me budget my money, and understand how much I could spend of each paycheck. My parents have always encouraged me to do what I love, and helped me when I decided to switch …show more content…

Because my aunt was so young compared to the average age of onset, it is most likely that there is a defect in the family genes. This means that I will most likely have cancer. In fact, I will have to start screening for cancer when I turn twenty-one. This was very hard to comprehend when I was first told, but my parents have been encouraging me not to let it influence my
