Modern-day slavery is still above our world. Whether as whole we notice it or not, it still goes on in these victim’s everyday lives. Approximately fifty years ago, the abolishment of slavery seemed like a disturbance that had been overcome, yet it has repeated itself. Today, human slavery has become our reality again. All genders and ages are being trafficked all over our world. The Thirteenth Amendment did not abolish slavery; it was a chapter held off until forced to start reading again. Human trafficking is a problem in many countries. Victims of trafficking may never escape this lifestyle, and if any do, they tend to end up dead or with diseases.
Millions of people are trafficked into this form of slavery, every day, every month, and every year. Their traffickers secretly transport their victims across borders and sell them like a piece of meat and occasionally in the same country, under their own family’s noses, they are trafficked. They are tricked into a situation which commonly offer the victims a good job, at times sold into trafficking by parents and significant others or most of the time they are being kidnapped. Majority of the victims are conveyed immigrants to the country. They are tricked and willingly to go without knowing the scam. In other matters of being sold or kidnapped, these victims are forced to proceed in this occupation. When they are finally “ready” for the auction, it is too late. The traffickers have already stolen any identification, along with everything they own, and making it completely impossible for the victims to go home.
