Human Trafficking is the illegal movement of people, typically for the purpose of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. The process starts by people being brainwashed, or even abducted, once a person has been taken they are in a vulnerable state, and will be tossed around, bought like items with barcodes. Consequently a person will be used for sex, labor and even removal of organs. This is a serious problem and it needs to stop today. Many people are missing, no where to be found, forever staying on the bottom of papers under “Have you seen?” A person who has been abducted into this lifestyle has to be extremely brave because you are forced to stay because there family is threatened, even there life. Until change happens and we see a decrease in human trafficking. Humans are not barcodes, they are humans.

The 1400’s marked that beginning but not the end of it. As the times went on, slavery was still being played out. Slavery very quickly went from labor to sex, in order to protect some in 1904 the International Agreement to the Suppression of “White Slave Traffic”, which was to protect white women, old and young from being forced into prostitution(Kangaspunta). Yet as time progressed it did not get any better. In 1932, Women from all over Asia, were forced to have sex with soldiers, this was actually installed by the Japanese government in hopes to decrease rape crimes in the streets(“Past”). Human trafficking has come such a long way, and it is still progressing and get worse as time continues. We have seen an increase in the numbers, just in 2008 there were about 1,000 cases of human trafficking reported(Soroptimist). the movement is ever growing, in 2014 there was, on average 5,000 cases of human trafficking being reported and now in 2016 we are looking at 6,000-7,000 cases a
