Have you ever woke up not knowing where you are and had a mini heart attack seconds before realizing you’re just home? Imagine feeling like that every day feeling alone and lost that’s something homeless people deal with on a daily basis. Waking up day after day not having a purpose and wondering what to do and hoping something will change today. Being homeless in Minnesota is very difficult, especially in the winter when the weather can sometimes reach below zero degrees. There’s many reasons why a person is homeless. It can be because of not having an income, therefore losing their home, misuse of drugs which lead to addiction, and it can be because of illness. It is the government responsibility to assist the homeless by offering places to stay, help …show more content…
When you feel the slight hunger we typical go to the kitchen open the fridge and find something to eat but to a homeless person that is not the case. An average person that went through homelessness have gone without food more than once it is very hard situation. According to National Homeless “46 million Americans visit food-sharing programs annually. It is estimated that one out of every six Americans go hungry on a daily basis.” Going without food for a very long time can cause a person to be very ill and weak. Things homeless person does is stand in a corner and beg for change and hope that it is enough to buy something to eat. Just like shelters there are programs to aid with that such as food bank. Food bank is a where canned goods and non-perishable items are found and given to people. There’s always pros and cons to any program. Pros it does not cost you a penny. Cons finding a food bank can sometime be hard because they’re not throughout the state and can sometimes be in specific location which forces the homeless person to get to find a way to get to the place before the food runs out and that can be a great
