You may have been told stories about heroes like you and me. Growing up you loved to hear how the good guys beat the bad ones. You felt proud to know so much about these heroes. As you got older, you wanted to be just like them. You worked so hard to be the best of the best. You wanted to please everyone. You studied the different wars and leaders, you knew who the allies were, the enemies, and the neutral countries.
As you counted down the days until you finally became a hero, you knew that your family and friends didn’t want you to leave. You had made your choice and you were going to follow through with it. You were taught that no matter the obstacle, nothing is impossible.

Heroes come from all around the world. They are all different shapes and sizes, colors and races. That doesn’t mean you aren't all sharing the same purpose. Heroes work together to be who they want to be.
Travel the world, make changes in peoples' lives, be remembered as someone that wanted to better things. Take one step at a time, one day at a time. Live and breathe like there is no tomorrow. Heroes don’t create change for publicity, they create change because they don’t like to see people suffer.
Fight for what you think is right and stand to make a difference. Be proud of who you are and remember that no one can change you. Follow the road less traveled and don’t turn back.
Be the hero that you want to be and don’t let anyone change that. We want to push you in the right direction and we want to support you the entire way. Remember to write everyday, even if you don’t have anything to write about. Just knowing that you are okay, makes us take one more step to knowing you are safe and will be home
