Certain areas in life must be left alone. One of these is cloning. Because humans are imperfect, playing God and creating life will result in a disaster. Though scientists argue that the costs of cloning are only a few embryos, their curiosity will never be quenched, and further studies, further darkness, will be sought. Because of these reasons, cloning should be banned and eradicated from our minds. In the beginning, God, not men, created the heavens and the earth. The ability to create comes with much responsibility. The ability to create gives one immense power. For example, using cloning techniques, one can mass create an army of superior humans. Throughout history, many figures have abused power: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and others. So, cloning techniques are bound to be used as weapons of destructions. At first, scientists might use a few embryos to cure some diseases; however, when this has been accomplished, new methods will arise. Slowly, researches will extend beyond the moral territory. Initially, several stem cells might be studied. But after a while, a human clone might be created. Then a group of clones might be formed. Eventually, a new world will be created. A world that is "[m]ore scientific, efficient...more cures for the old sicknesses...but a harsh, cruel world (Never Let Me Go 272)." In this world, clones will be made for their organs. This seems irrational. It seems that humans would not be capable of such cruelty. However, a robber does not steal a car over night. They start with something small like a needle. Gradually, but surely, they proceed to more valuable items. This phenomenon has been studied by psychologist and is given a name: foot-in-the-door phenomenon.
