The number of homeless children let alone adults is insane. This year there are between 700,000 and 800,000 people that are homeless. Around 2.5m and 3.5m people have experienced homelessness in this year ("Gimme"). In 2015, the percentages for homelessness went up for families and children. 34% for families and 24% for children alone (Mostrous). The percentages of people becoming homeless everyday is outrageous. This should not be happening. We live in the wealthiest country of them all and we have the most resources, so why is this still such a big problem? In society today, homelessness is overlooked and neglected. I feel as if we as a country are just being plain selfish and rude. We all know that in the USA, there are many people that have more than enough money for themselves, just to buy pointless materialistic things. People are sitting out there on the streets freezing their tails off and starving, and we have the nerve to sit in our nice warm houses and complain that there is no food in the fridge.
