Persuasive Assignment

Decent Essays
In asking the students to create a persuasive essay, I would utilize a checklist type rubrics, which entails what content I want to see in the essay. Each section will have an explanation of the type of information I want in the paper with a column for the total number of points if all standards are met. As, the student goes through the section, they must initial that they have incorporated that portion of information into their essay. When, they turn in their essay they will turn in the checklist. As, I grade the assignment I will indicate the missing information and the point value for that potion. This allows the student to know what content was missing or omitted as well as the scoring effect that that discrepancy had on the essay

In August of 1992, just four months after Chris walked alone into the wild, his perishing body was found by a party of moose hunters. Chris went into the wild hoping to get away from corrupt society and to live a transcendentalist lifestyle. His bold journey was going well until he made a silly mistake when he came across seeds from the wild potato. The seeds themselves are not what killed Chris, it was the amino acids in the seeds that caused him to slowly become paralyzed due to his malnutrition and physical state.…

My advice to makayla is to never get stuck on one question no longer than five minutes. It's okay to skip a question and come back to it later once you have answer all of the other questions. It's also okay to guess intelligently on some of the questions. I feel that you shouldn't always linger on the same questions, because that can cause you to loose most of you time on the test. Although students learn basic English skills throughout grade school and up to high school, most of the advanced steps are forgotten by the time the student is to enter college. Paired with this, are the nontraditional students, who haven’t studied advanced academic language for long periods of time. While the SAT and ACT tests are intended to provide a fair assessment for students across the nation, they are simply not an accurate representation of a student’s potential because of the different circumstances which surround a student. Many colleges have realized that standardized test scores do not equate to the success of a student and…

After reviewing my persuasive speech over why the University of Oklahoma is the best university in the nation, I would sum up my speech as a little bit of train wreck. Although I made good claims with factual evidence, the amount of stuttering I did, and all the times I was choked up throughout the speech drew my audience’s attention away. From this, I lost my audience’s belief that I was competent of the information I was reiterating to them.
